Does the Type of Printer Paper Use Matter

Copier paper, computer printer paper, and picture paper are the three basic categories of paper. Use copy paper at your place of business to create original documents in bulk that you might need to distribute or store. Typically, copier paper is highly transparent and thin. The amount of light that a piece of paper lets through determines its quality. Quality is not a concern when producing work papers in bulk to be filed or disseminated. Copier paper, which makes up around 8 to 10 percent of all paper consumed, may be recycled.

Computer printer paper comes in two main varieties: matted and glossy. A “extremely vivid” outer layer is seen on matted paper. On the other side, glossy paper has a shiny texture. Plain copier paper will work just fine if you are printing final draught copies because quality won’t matter all that much. However, a thicker coated, matted paper is advised if you are printing a final draught or color presentations since it enables clearer colors and higher quality images.

A glossy appearance is preferred for pictures. Because ink dries more quickly on shiny surfaces, producing crisper pictures. The most common size for printing images from your computer printer is 4×6.

Knowing the qualities of paper is also crucial. Weight is the first. The thickness of a sheet of paper increases with increasing paper weight. Stronger paper with a heavier weight offers a more solid feel. Also, less light will be able to flow through it. While routine printing and copying are done on regular weighted paper, presentations and final draughts should be done on heavier paper. Brightness is the second feature. Most papers will range in brightness from 80 to 100, with 100 being the brightest. Your printer’s output will be better the brighter the paper is. Texture comes next. Because of the way ink is applied to the paper with laser printers, the texture you use will be different from that of an inkjet printer. For precise results, a laser needs flat paper. A rougher surface will be needed for inkjet printers. This will result in a clean image since it won’t disperse on the paper’s surface but rather stick to it for a sharper image.
