Go Green with Pre-owned Copier Machine

Nowadays, most of us are holding responsibility for the environment that affects our choices on the world. In our life, we recycle everything from our old cell phones, grocery plastics to cereal boxes. Just like contractors of residential buildings are integrating sustainable or recycled materials at homes and offices they build, so should business organizations. Sure most companies ask their employees to recycle everyday items such as plastic bottles, but also certain measures should be looked for such as recycling larger pieces like office equipment.

When buying or renting a copier machine, it is very important to consider the environmental impact on the copier to have throughout its life cycle in regards to its activities like manufacturing, packaging, shipping, usage and disposal.  Let’s take an example if each 30-story commercial building has 5 companies on each floor and each company has 4 copier machines. That is a total of 600 copier machines per building. Imagine if that city had 40 commercial buildings. That is a huge amount of copier machines altogether. If only those companies purchase or rent pre-owned copier machines or donate their used ones when purchasing new or leased copiers, that would be great for our environment.

Purchasing a pre-owned copier machine can eliminate the need to purchase raw materials needed for the new copier production which can lead to reducing the end-users carbon footprint. Buying pre-owned copier machines can decrease wasteful dumping of perfectly serviceable machines. It takes a long time, even decades for  the plastic material that houses an ink cartridge to decompose properly. It’s very important to dispose of it properly because it is non-biodegradable and toxic to the environment. By purchasing a pre-owned copier machine, it ensures that a copier machine does not end up in a landfill.

Be sure to keep your office ‘green’ by purchasing or renting pre-owned copier machines so that we can save the earth together. If your copier machine is not ready for the landfill, donate or recycling it is a good step to start off. If it is ready to retire, buying a pre-owned copier machine is unquestionably the ‘green’ approach to replacing it.
